Boulders and Blueberries
An unlikely pair
Blueberries growing in the crevice of a lake- facing boulder
I climb, and know my steps
I memorized them forty years ago
The rocks that looked so strewn about
Once observed, become a map
A pathway to what I truly desire
To touch the leaves of a wild blueberry
Growing solitarily from a rock
I see its blossoms now forming fruit
What was alone will attract many
There are aspen and birch seedlings
Growing next to an established birch
Offering its sheltering arms
To rest upon or under
Hummingbirds
Honey bees
Me
Blueberries
