I believe we all emulate flowers, and see each of us within them.

Flowers we find along the riverbanks, in open fields.

Flowers that grow in cracks along the sidewalks that we pick as children for our dolls, our fairies, our mothers, and friends.

We eventually at times walk over the blooms in the sidewalk cracks-unnoticed, as their delicate stems crush and imprint their lives onto the pavement.

We fail to walk along the riverbanks, the Meadows, the open fields; to devour their wild openness, because there just doesn't seem like there is enough time to do so.

It's not that we don't value flowers and their beauty.

It's just inconvenient to truly value them.

So, we find ways to fit them in.

Sometimes we are given flowers.

The thoughtfulness overwhelms us for a moment.

Someone took time for me.

Someone thought about the flowers and colors, and style I enjoy.

They paid attention to me.

They apologized to me.

They celebrated me.

They empathized with me through loss with their floral offering.

Yes, we are the flowers given, the ones who have been planted and shared from. Each of us created uniquely to encourage, to represent life, to grieve with and from. We are the flowers who offer a glimpse of beauty every day, and are created to slow down and notice, not out of convenience or expectations.
