rest
I remember what it feels like to rest, and so I must, and I will
I rest, when I hear the birds sing, and I quiet myself to hear them even more
I rest, when I feel the waves cover me,
and enjoy that I did not make or move them
The path my bare feet wander on, has been laid before me,
the unspoken invitation requests that I wander a while
and so, I must, and I will
My eyes become even more enlivened as I watch the honeybees mingle on the flowers before me!
The colors, the hum, the star dust of fallen pollen scatter across my shoulders, and this, I will not brush aside
The hand of God, and all His wonders work majestically together, for me, and for you,
to deliver what the Psalms profess: restoration.
Yes, You guide me by still waters, and restore my soul
And so, I must, and I will
